BOTOX is a nonsurgical skin treatment, which uses a purified strain of botulinum toxin type A to temporarily smooth dynamic wrinkles, including frown lines, smile lines, and the fine lines around the eyes (commonly called “crow’s feet”). BOTOX, one of the most well known wrinkle treatments available today, relaxes the muscles under the skin whose frequent contractions have created dynamic wrinkles over time. By relaxing the facial muscles, BOTOX makes the skin appear supple, smooth, and youthful for 3-4 months. Many of Atlanta area patients love the age-defying results of BOTOX and come back regularly for treatments by board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Aisha Baron to maintain their results.
The best candidates for BOTOX injections are in good health who show the following signs:
- Dynamic wrinkles
- Smile and/or frown lines
- Lines around the eyes (“crow’s feet”)
What To Expect
The doctor will look at the quantity, depth, and location of your dynamic wrinkles to mark the areas of the muscles of the face that will be treated. With an ultra-fine syringe, BOTOX will be carefully injected into the marked areas. Most patients report mild discomfort when the needle pierces the skin, but numbing creams and cold compresses can be used to make your treatment more comfortable.
Besides some swelling and redness for 3-4 hours, you should be able to return to your regular activities after the injection. We encourage all of our BOTOX patients to avoid exercise for 24 hours and to sleep upright the first night after the treatment. Complete results after BOTOX are visible (smoother forehead and diminished wrinkles) in about 5-7 days. Many patients feel that BOTOX treatments make their skin look radiant, they feel younger, and look well rested.
BOTOX has transformed the lives of millions of people, and you can be one of them. Many of Dr. Baron's patients enjoy the benefits of BOTOX as it safely and effectively decreases facial wrinkles and age lines.
